November is the eleventh month of the year. It may be autumn but can feel and look very wintery. That usually means, winds, rain, snow, rubber boots, scarfs and darkness descending earlier. Winter is coming. But, there is also an exciting holiday energy in the air, the beautiful “Supermoon” and delicious winter veggies and roasts. On board to help brighten the days and nights area the gemstone our heroes, Topaz & Citrine. These are the bright birthstones of those of us beings born in this month.
Topaz
One of the beloved gemstones of all time. Said to be a healing and possibly magical stone. Topaz actually has an exceptionally wide colour range that, besides brown, includes various tones and saturation of blue, green, yellow, orange, red, pink, and purple.
Citrine
Citrine is rare in nature. In the days before modern gemology, its tawny colour caused it to be confused with topaz. Today, its attractive colour, plus the durability and affordability it shares with most other quartzes, make it the top-selling yellow-to-orange gem. In the contemporary market, citrine’s most popular shade is an earthy, deep, brownish or reddish orange.
